Our Covid19 Response.
We are actively responding to the coronavirus (COVID19) pandemic and have taken steps to keep staff, volunteers, families and the people we support safe.
Eucalypt is obliged to support the mandatory COVID-19 vaccine and treatment roll-out strategy for staff.
Eucalypt welcomes the Government’s National COVID-19 Vaccine roll-out Strategy, prioritising essential workers and people with disability. We are thankful that the health of the vulnerable people we support is being recognised.
We encourage our Eucalypt community, including staff, support workers and people we support, to make an informed decision about being vaccinated. Vaccination can save lives and higher vaccination rates can make outbreaks much less likely.
We will also continue to follow COVID-19 safe measures as we have done throughout the pandemic including:
regular hand washing
maintaining physical distancing where possible
following strict cleaning and infection control procedures
encouraging the use of masks where it is possible and safe to do so
implementing government requirements specific to disability services
Eucalypt provides essential services and will continue to do so during COVID-19. Our priority is the safety and wellbeing of everyone, including the people we support, staff and all their families.
Our Crisis Response Plan.
Eucalypt provides essential services and is continuing to do so. Our priority is the safety and well being of everyone, including the people we support, staff, volunteers, and families.
In order to respond to the current local outbreaks of COVID-19 we have developed a Crisis Response Plan and are taking the necessary steps to minimise the risk of exposure to coronavirus in our workplace and home. This requires a delicate decision balance between appropriate protection measures and maintaining a sense of normality in the routine of our participants.
How we are protecting the people we support
As well as continuing to provide services, we have put a number of measures in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19:
We are continuing to follow changing public health orders
We have implemented cleaning and hygiene protocols that align with the Department of Health in our workplace and group home.
Our COVID-19 Response Team actively monitors the changing situation daily and informs staff, volunteers, families and people we support of any changes.
Above all, as a deeply christian organisation, we continue in our prayers and in our strong belief that nothing in this universe happens by chance. Our heavenly God who created this world, continues to govern and control all things in it, including these seemingly insignificant protein molecules that have caused much angst over the last few years.. God promises to do all that as part of His greater plan for this world and for our benefit even though it might not seem that way. That’s faith, that’s trust, that’s our God.
